About Asahi Beer USA
Asahi Beer USA is a premium beverage business built around super premium brands - Asahi Super Dry, Twisted Shotz, and Zeitaku Shibori. As part of Asahi Europe & International, the global arm of Asahi Group Holdings, we combine local agility with global scale, supported by Octopi Brewing, our state-of-the-art production facility in Wisconsin.
About the Role
This is a technical, problem-solving role for someone who knows cellar processes inside and out and loves digging into the "why" behind the way things work. The Cellar Technologist supports the cellar department through process optimization, SOP and technical documentation, trials, and troubleshooting - working closely with engineering, maintenance, shift supervisors, and brewers along the way.
If you're the person your team turns to when something needs to be figured out, not just fixed, this role is built for you.
This role reports to the Cellar Manager.
What You'll Do
  • Review, update, and maintain cellar SOPs based on evolving processes and best practices
  • Write new SOPs for cellar processes when a need is identified
  • Maintain cellar programming punchlists - reviewing shift reports and escalating needs to programming resources
  • Routinely meet with programmers to review action items and progress
  • Build and maintain troubleshooting guides, Lockout/Tagout procedures, Critical Parameter sheets, and Proleit trends
  • Escalate CAPEX needs to brewing management and scope "Welding Project" work orders
  • Coordinate and execute technical trials with support from the Cellar Manager
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day technical issues alongside production and maintenance
  • Partner with the LDC to develop technical training and guides
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in adherence with PPE and GMP requirements

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production-scale brewery environment
  • Brewer 2 or Supervisor experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of cellar equipment and processes
  • Strong troubleshooting methodology and ability to solve unique, complex problems
  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences or related brewing education a plus
  • Experience with automated equipment a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • A positive attitude - this role requires close collaboration across teams

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Rate: $28.00/hour
  • Eligible for annual performance-based bonus program
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off & 9 paid holidays
  • 401(k) with company match
  • And more

We are an equal opportunity employer. All offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
Asahi Beer USA celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can show up as their authentic self.
