Job description

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our growing team in Columbus, GA. In this role, you will take an active part in delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that directly impact the communities we serve - including exciting work on a Treatment Plant design project in Columbus.

You'll collaborate with experienced engineers on larger, more complex initiatives while taking ownership of smaller project work. Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in project scope, budget development, and project design.
  • Supports PM providing technical leadership on conventional projects.
  • Designs experiments, interprets, and develops conclusions on complex data. 
  • Serves as technical lead and design lead for a defined component, system, or process - leading the design and delivery of small to medium single-discipline projects and contributing as design lead on larger, multi-discipline projects. Writes, produces, and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, and other deliverables to clients.
  • Accountable for developing, coordinating, and completing project documents for assigned scope, whether for an entire smaller project or a significant portion of a larger project. Participate in client meetings, as appropriate.
  • Conducts on-site visits to monitor progress of project(s).
  • Directs and mentors EITs and Designers in preparation of project plans.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Monitors schedule & quality of technical team's work on projects and budget adherence.
  • Utilization rates align with goal.
