Job description

Overview

Project Superintendent, Heavy Civil at Michels Construction, Inc. leads field operations on heavy civil projects, coordinating activities of workers and subcontractors to support foundations, industrial facilities, and related infrastructure. The role requires effective communication with the General Superintendent, Safety staff, foremen, Project Managers, and other team members to keep multiple projects on schedule and within safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate field activities, either personally or through subordinates, across multiple projects.
  • Communicate with and supervise the General Superintendent, Safety staff, foremen, and Project Managers to ensure alignment and safe execution.
  • Support dynamic and growing industries through effective project oversight and collaboration.
  • Maintain a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and budget while delivering project milestones.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training in the construction industry
  • Experience with heavy civil and alternative delivery projects
  • Experience with structural concrete construction and subcontract management
  • Knowledge of forming systems, mix designs and admixtures desired
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable vehicle types and a satisfactory driving record as determined by Michels
  • Ability to travel and commit to long-term onsite projects
