Job Description: Estimator / Project Manager
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to joinour team as an Estimator/Project Manager in Birmingham, AL. As anEstimator/Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in deliveringcompetitive cost estimates for construction projects by meticulouslycalculating labor, equipment, and material requirements. You'll dive into thetechnical intricacies of each project, critically analyze bid documents, assessrisks and opportunities in estimates, schedules, and bid proposals.Additionally, you will assist Operations in the successful execution ofprojects, from startup to completion, ensuring they stay on track both in termsof time and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Bid Preparation: Acquire bid documents, including plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and other relevant materials.
  • Scope Analysis: Review project plans to determine the scope of work and takeoff requirements.
  • Quantitative Analysis: Perform comprehensive material and quantity takeoffs for various construction elements such as asphalt pavement, earthwork, utilities, concrete curb, and flatwork.
  • Subcontractor Engagement: Solicit and evaluate subcontractor quotes to enhance competitiveness.
  • Bid Analysis: Collaborate with the management team to analyze bids and market conditions. Attend pre-bid meetings and bid openings to represent the company.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, and architects throughout project execution.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage bonding, change orders, and cost tracking during the entire project lifecycle.
  • Project Startup: Organize and lead project startup meetings to ensure a smooth project initiation.
  • Schedule Development: Assist Operations in developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules.
  • Financial Tracking: Review monthly estimates and proactively follow up on receivables.
  • Reporting: Maintain various reports and databases to track project progress.

Qualifications:
