Salary: $95,000 - $110,000/yr

CMC Development & Construction is seeking an experienced Project Executive to provide executive-level leadership and oversight for multiple commercial construction projects and project teams. The Project Executive is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, client satisfaction, risk management, and successful project delivery across assigned projects and regions.


The Project Executive serves as a strategic leader within Operations and works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Preconstruction, Procurement, Safety, and executive leadership to ensure projects align with CMC standards, company goals, and client expectations.


Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Provide executive oversight for multiple construction projects and project teams.
  • Support Project Managers and Operations staff throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Monitor overall project performance and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Promote consistency in operational processes, reporting, and project execution standards across all assigned projects.
  • Assist in strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives.

Financial Oversight

  • Oversee project financial performance
  • Review project financial reports and forecasts with Project Managers.
  • Ensure financial risks are identified and addressed proactively.
  • Support billing, collections, and overall project financial health.
  • Participate in executive financial reviews and operational planning meetings.

Client & Business Development Support

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Serve as an executive-level client contact for assigned projects.
  • Support Business Development efforts by participating in interviews, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Assist in securing repeat business opportunities and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Support project pursuits, contract negotiations, and strategic planning efforts.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Operations personnel.
  • Provide coaching and support for employee growth and leadership development.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional excellence throughout project teams.
  • Assist with recruiting, staffing, workforce planning, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture aligned with CMCs core values and operational standards.

Schedule & Risk Management

  • Monitor project schedules and major milestones across assigned projects.
  • Ensure project teams identify and mitigate schedule risks proactively.
  • Assist teams in resolving operational challenges and project conflicts.
  • Oversee risk management strategies

Safety & Quality Leadership

  • Champion CMCs safety culture and Goal Zero initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Support Safety Department initiatives, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Promote quality control standards and operational excellence on all projects.
  • Ensure project teams maintain high-quality workmanship and documentation standards.

Procurement & Contract Oversight

  • Support procurement and subcontractor buyout strategies.
  • Review major subcontractor and vendor agreements.
  • Assist in evaluating subcontractor performance and project risk exposure.
  • Ensure proper contract administration and compliance throughout project execution.

Executive Reporting & Strategic Planning

  • Provide regular operational updates to executive leadership.
  • Analyze project and departmental performance metrics.
  • Assist with company growth initiatives, operational planning, and process improvement.
  • Participate in company leadership meetings and strategic initiatives.
  • Support implementation of companywide standards, systems, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of commercial construction experience required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in senior project management or operations leadership preferred.
  • Proven experience managing multiple large commercial construction projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
