We're looking for a Structures Project Manager to join the HMB team!

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects primarily in, but not limited to, the transportation market.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control to ensure successful project completion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and materials selection.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, review and approve project documentation, reports, and specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while resolving technical challenges.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Provide clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on transportation structures related issues.
  • Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
  • 15+ years of experience in structural engineering and project management.
  • Proven track record of managing structural projects.
  • Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., OpenBridge/LEAP, MIDAS, OpenRoads, MicroStation).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Experience working in multiple states is a plus.
  • Project and/or client management experience is required.
  • Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of all aspects of small- to large-scale structural projects of varying technical complexity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs and deadlines, as well as other assigned project parameters.
