Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented SW WA Prevention Navigator. The SW Washington Prevention Navigator provides community-based HIV/STI testing services, primarily working with MSM (men who have sex with men) and other populations disproportionately impacted by HIV. This role consists of, but is not limited to, operating CLIA-waived rapid HIV and HCV test devices, educating clients on self-collection for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea lab tests, performing patient screening & health history collection, conducting blood collection and phlebotomy, and providing patient education on safe-sex practices and harm-reduction methods.

This is a Full-Time role working at our Vancouver location in SW Washington. The schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm.

Starting pay is $29.18 an hour which is equivalent to just over $48,547 a year. The Pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $33.99. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.

Who You Are

  • 2 years of experience working in Community Health or 1 year experience working in Community Health combined with a bachelor's degree in human/social services field (social work, public or community health, psychology) or related field
  • Ability to maintain Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) AND Medical Assistant- Phlebotomy (MA-P) with 3 months of start date
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle *
  • Understanding HIV, HCV, and STD transmission and prevention methods, as well as familiarity with Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
  • Previous experience collaborating extensively with members of a team to ensure clients experience effective services centered around their needs
  • Experience working with community members who are affected by houselessness or unstable housing

What You'll Do

  • Provide highest quality HIV/STI Counseling, Testing, and Harm Reduction education in accordance with CAP guidelines and policies via testing programs and community events.
  • Observe all of CAP's Quality Assurance measures and protocols and participate in quality improvement processes as an advocate for ensuring all CAP participants receive the best services possible while at CAP.
  • Plan, participate, and support department and agency identified priority meetings and events.
  • Under the oversight of the SW Washington Medical Director and the Prevention Services Nurse Manager implement HIV, HCV, and STI testing services in both office and field-based settings.
  • Conduct client-centered prevention education with a focus on client re-engagement and retention.
  • Provide patients and clients with basic introductory education on HIV, HCV, and STI transmission, symptoms, prognosis, treatment, and prevention
