Job Purpose:

The Project Manager position is part of a team Specializing in the delivery of turnkey Liquid Process Projects serving the Beverage, Brewery, Liquid Food, Sauces and Dressings and HPC markets.

As the Project Manager you will have the overall responsibility for the execution of Project(s) being involved through all phases from proposal schedule and risk review through commissioning, handover and project close.

You will have the responsibility for ensuring a strong culture of ownership within the project team in meeting the project objectives including safety, customer satisfaction, quality, schedule and budget.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects as a Professional Project Manager according to the KPGNA Project Management Guidelines.
  • Overall responsible for the financial performance and result of the project, ensuring the best outcome for KPGNA by creating and maintaining a detailed project budget.
  • Coordinates activities of the project organization while being responsible for the project success and providing strong direction to the project team.
  • Planning and maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress including the work breakdown schedules and activity lists of all project contributors.
  • Creates and maintains the project resource plan and communicates resource needs to relevant department managers.
  • Creates Procurement plan with supply chain to schedule fabrication and component receipt to support meeting project schedule. Supports RFQ process for mechanical and electrical installation contractor selection.
  • Responsible for completion of phase gate reviews and reporting of the development in the project to multiple stakeholders including the customer.
  • Responsible for Claim Management & Change order management including impacts to the schedule and budget.
  • Perform Risk & Opportunity management to mitigate and minimize project risks.
  • Ensure that the sitework is managed by the Site Manager / Installation Supervisor and that H&S is always implemented. Attend client meetings on site as required to facilitate the installation and commissioning of the KPGNA process plant.
  • Captures and evaluates Lessons Learned for the project.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience, training, and education.

Experience/Training: 3+ years of experience in technical project teams with knowledge in handling contractual matters and negotiation and dispute resolution. Experience in beverage, dairy or liquid food projects preferred.

Physical / Working Demands

  • The work environment is a professional office environment where a conservative business dress code is in effect. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position will require visits to active jobsites and installation shops as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to type, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Equipment used includes a computer, calculator, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to understand both spoken and written directions and good vision required.
  • Personal protective equipment required includes protective-toed safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields and a hard hat (when on an active job site).
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety and environmental policies/procedures. Each employee is to place environmental health and safety requirements as the priority in the performance of their work duties. Employees are responsible for notifying their immediate supervisor of a violation or deficiency in working conditions and recommending corrective measures, if possible. The employee's immediate supervisor must also be notified of every injury, or near miss.
  • Travel using automobiles, planes, or other modes of transportation as needed up to 30%.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
