Job description

PROJECT MANAGER
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our steel fabrication projects and ensure their successful execution from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, expertise in steel fabrication processes, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a project manager in the steel fabrication industry, with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, including detailing, fabrication, and erection.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Proficiency in project management software, Excel, Microsoft Project, Primavera as well as MS Word and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams to achieve project goals.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing steel fabrication projects, including AISC standards and AWS welding codes.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of steel fabrication projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with all internal departments and subcontractors to communicate project scope requirements.
  • Manage all subcontractors and subcontracts.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure adherence to project milestones and deadlines.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and forecast costs to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for fabrication projects.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess work progress, quality standards, and safety compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members, stakeholders, and senior management to provide project updates, address concerns, and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing steel fabrication projects, including safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and closeout documents.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team.
