Job description

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Power & Controls organization. In this fast‑paced and dynamic environment, you will serve as the Project Engineering Lead for Environment and Aircraft Control Systems (EACS), guiding cross‑functional teams from strategy through execution. This role requires U.S. citizenship, residence in Puerto Rico at the start of employment, and a hybrid schedule of 3 onsite days and 2 remote days.

What YOU will do
  • Facilitate clear communication and collaboration between leadership and engineering teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Build and maintain accurate project schedules, including milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and cost data.
  • Lead weekly project reviews to track progress, status, open issues, and upcoming priorities.
  • Identify risks, barriers, and potential mitigation strategies.
  • Support baseline creation, change control activities, and CIPT issue communication.
  • Analyze performance trends, cost data, resource needs, and forecasting reports.
  • Ensure adherence to company processes and recommend improvements to enhance project scheduling, monitoring, and reporting.
Qualifications you must have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (or 3 years with an advanced degree).
  • English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Familiarity with FAA certification processes.
  • Experience with full product life cycle across systems, hardware, software, or mechanical disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading and managing multifunction engineering projects.
  • Background in controller electronics.
  • Experience with recovery planning and mitigation strategies.
