OverviewWe are searching for a Project Manager at our Mankato, MN facility to support our Door Engineering. This role will be responsible for the overall coordination and execution of new projects and jobs from the time of order acceptance until product shipment. This includes coordination with our Sales, Engineering, Purchasing and Operations team to assure effective communication of schedules to both our internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production schedules for multiple concurrent projects including dates, labor data, financial data, etc., utilizing scheduling software such as Monday.com, Excel, and Manufacturing/ERP system (INFOR).
  • Prioritize engineering and production schedules based on customer needs and internal capacity.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external customers, including installers, end-users, architects and general contractors regarding project information, product data, status updates, and scheduling.
  • Provide responses to internal and external requests both promptly and accurately with complete information.
  • Verify submittal package meets expectations of sales orders, customer requirements and project specifications. Resolve discrepancies with internal and external customers.
  • Transmit submittal drawing packages and product data to customers, as well as arrange additional information requested by customers.
  • Develop sufficient product knowledge to resolve customer technical questions regarding product fit, finish, and capabilities.
  • Change management coordination for any post-award job changes that occur.
  • Communicate cost of design time and materials associated with customer changes to Sales Team and/or customer.
  • Communicate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to account for lead times for design resources, production capacity and inventory which may affect production schedule.
  • Communicate and negotiate delivery details with customers including shipments to storage and associated costs.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain and communicate on-time delivery data to management, finance, and executive teams.
  • Provide forecast data for Supply Chain and Operations capacity planning.
  • Lead Weekly/Daily Scheduling and SIOP meetings.
  • Participate in weekly job cost audit meetings to assess and monitor projects’ financial performance.
  • Perform daily quality walks to review products in production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in a business or engineering related field, or equivalent project management experience.
  • Experience working with contractors and/or customers.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to learn technical aspects of door systems and manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to solve problems and work cross-functionally to resolve.
  • Able to effectively locate, communicate, and document information.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient Typing Skills, Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Able to learn Manufacturing/ERP system, and CAD Viewing programs.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as necessary (<10%).
