OVERVIEW:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing customer projects from receipt of order through shipment and completion. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and coordinates cross-functional activities to ensure projects are executed in accordance with contractual, technical, schedule, and financial requirements. Working under the guidance of Senior Project Managers and department leadership, the Project Manager I supports the successful delivery of pump systems and integrated solutions while developing project management expertise and business knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review purchase orders, work orders, and proposals to ensure alignment with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and delivery expectations.
  • Verify pump system component selections for compatibility and compliance with overall system performance requirements.
  • Prepare and administer change orders, ensuring scope modifications and contractual requirements are properly documented and communicated.
  • Negotiate and implement customer-requested changes following order placement.
  • Coordinate with external vendors regarding auxiliary equipment procurement and supporting documentation.
  • Resolve issues related to equipment design, quality requirements, and manufacturing readiness prior to production release.
  • Coordinate project schedules and milestone tracking with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Purchasing, Quality Control, Finance, Shipping, and Order Management.
  • Manage documentation submittals and support the preparation of final installation, operation, and maintenance manuals.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including invoicing, progress billing, cash flow, budget tracking, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate customer inspection visits and ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements.
  • Arrange installation and startup support activities with Technical Services and Service Group personnel.
  • Analyze project variances and support corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of project management procedures, training materials, and reference documentation.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development related to project management practices and GIW products.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with system integration projects.
  • Familiarity with centrifugal pumps, process pumps, motors, gear reducers, couplings, drive components, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
