To thrive as a Project Manager, you need strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, often supported by a degree in business or a related field and relevant project management experience. Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | PROJECT MANAGER | EPC | Birmingham, ALย

Alabama based construction and manufacturing company is hiring an experienced Project Manager to own the full lifecycle of complex building programs within an integrated design-manufacture-construct delivery model. This is not a traditional GC PM role โ€” the person in this seat manages across design, manufacturing, and field construction simultaneously, owns the project financials end-to-end, presents performance at executive review, and leads the field during critical installation milestones.ย  If you have 4-8 years of PM experience, advanced Excel and scheduling proficiency across multiple platforms, and you're ready to own a program rather than manage a phase, this is a conversation worth having.

  • Anticipate $100K-$120K+, based on experience
  • Full benefits package: health, dental, and vision insurance; FSA; paid time off; short-term and long-term disability; life insurance; 401(k)
  • Support for professional licenses and certifications (PMP, LEED AP, and others)
  • Defined advancement path within a growing Program Management group
  • Birmingham, Alabama โ€” travel up to 5 days per month to active job sites (primarily Southeast and Texas)

Overview:

Program Management:

  • Own end-to-end project delivery for assigned programs โ€” design, manufacturing, construction, and closeout
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve all program tools and processes: schedules, buyout logs, change order logs, financial forecasts, and stakeholder communications
  • Manage project financials: forecasting, cost control, change management, and performance reporting
  • Present project performance at executive review
  • Lead execution of vendor and subcontractor contracts; manage Owner Invoices, change orders, and JCR forecasting
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across design, manufacturing, construction, supply chain, regulatory, warranty, and finance
  • Identify cost, schedule, and scope risks; escalate appropriately; drive proactive resolution
  • Lead structured project launches with clear schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Mentor and develop junior project management staff
  • Capture and communicate lessons learned to support continuous improvement
  • Support estimating with data-driven cost models, project assumptions, and financial analysis

Field Leadership:

  • Serve as primary on-site point of contact and client-facing communicator during critical construction milestones
  • Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, Engineer of Record, and design partners
  • Oversee subcontractor and vendor performance on-site: scope, execution, quality, schedule, and safety
  • Negotiate, review, and execute subcontracts and Owner Change Orders
  • Lead client walkthroughs, OAC meetings, and milestone acceptance on-site
  • Drive quality and safety performance standards on-site

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience including proven PM delivery of complex projects in construction or manufacturing
  • Demonstrated end-to-end project delivery accountability โ€” full lifecycle, not just one phase
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency โ€” Power Query, complex modeling, pivot tables, and dashboards
  • Advanced scheduling proficiency across multiple platforms: MS Project, Primavera P6, and Smartsheet
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across design, manufacturing, and construction
  • Experience with client interaction, reporting, and executive-level communication
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days per month

Preferred โ€” strong differentiators:

  • Experience presenting project financial performance at executive or senior client level
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, or data modeling tools
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Smartsheet dashboards
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or comparable ERP
  • AI tool proficiency with demonstrated application to project delivery workflows
  • Experience in construction or design-build environments
  • Experience interpreting CAD, Revit, or SolidWorks models
  • Relevant professional certification: PMP, ASHE CHC, LEED AP, or similar

KEYWORDS Project Manager, EPC Project Manager, Construction Project Manager, Design-Build PM, Construction PM, End-to-End Project Delivery, Project Financials, JCR, Change Order Management, Cost Forecasting, Executive Reporting, Cross-Functional Coordination, MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, Power Query, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, AHJ, EOR, Subcontract Management, Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Dynamics, ERP, PMP, Alabama, Birmingham
