Summary:

We are searching for an exceptional Project Manager who is experienced in managing Building Automation System (BAS) projects, with responsibilities including coordination with designers and operations managers to support engineering design and produce detailed shop and as-built drawings. Skilled in analyzing and improving work procedures and standards, while assisting in the development of commissioning processes. Proven ability to manage projects to ensure alignment with scope, budget, and scheduled completion dates. The role is situated out of our Head Office in Vaughan, ON.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Building Automation System (BAS) projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and scheduled completion dates.

  • Collaborate with designers, sales, and operations managers to support engineering design, and produce accurate shop drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation.

  • Review and interpret engineering specifications, building codes, and design drawings; ensure designs meet both customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Design control systems, including DDC controller sequences, control drawings, valve and damper sizing, and equipment schedules.

  • Prepare and submit engineering documentation in line with project specifications and internal standards; lead submittal approval processes.

  • Provide accurate quotations for small projects and change orders based on bidding documents, specifications, and historical performance data.

  • Offer technical support to field technicians and junior designers; assist in analyzing system requirements and developing solutions for new or existing applications.

  • Conduct job site surveys, review construction plans, and analyze sales sketches, take-offs, and estimates to inform project planning.

  • Lead field technicians, ensuring proper installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of BAS equipment and systems.

  • Support the development of standard operating procedures, technical manuals, and commissioning guidelines in collaboration with the operations manager.

  • Review and update BAS software algorithms and graphical standards to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Gather and incorporate feedback from installation teams and project leads to improve project documentation and execution.

  • Assist sales teams by providing technical insight during bidding and estimating phases, ensuring alignment with codes and design intent.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent field experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Building Automation Systems, HVAC controls, or similar field.

  • Proven experience in project management within BAS or similar industries.

  • Solid understanding of HVAC system components, control sequences, and energy management strategies.

  • Strong working knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and engineering documentation.

  • Familiarity with BAS product lines and related technical manuals.

  • Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, floor plans, and specifications.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software; experience with BAS software platforms preferred.

  • Strong communication and collaboration across disciplines.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
