Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving execution of multiple development and improvement projects across the organization. They will work with staff across all departments, as well as external partners and suppliers, to ensure that projects are defined, resourced, tracked, and completed on time, within scope, and within budget. They serve as the primary point of accountability for ensuring that development and improvement activities are monitored, on track, and effectively communicated to leadership.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project charters and detailed project plans, including scope, deliverables, milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.

Serve as the main point of contact for project teams, ensuring cross-department coordination and alignment between Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Sales, and other stakeholders.

Track performance and progress of all project tasks, regularly update timelines, and provide clear status, risk, and issue reporting to management.

Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating when necessary to keep projects on track.

Adjust schedules, milestones, and resource allocations as projects proceed, ensuring impacts are communicated and documented.

Facilitate regular project meetings (kickoffs, stand-ups, design reviews, gate reviews, and post-mortems) and document decisions, actions, and follow-ups.

Coordinate with Engineering and R&D teams to ensure technical requirements, design changes, and test activities are integrated into project plans.

Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality to plan for prototypes, pilot builds, and production ramp-up.

Support the development and continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and standards across the organization.

Ensure that customer and regulatory requirements related to product development are considered and incorporated into project plans where applicable.

Requirements

Skills and Specifications

Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment managing multiple concurrent projects.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with all levels of management and across departments.

High proficiency with common business software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com or similar).

Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle or similar) for scheduling, materials, and/or financial tracking.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize in response to changing business needs.

Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues and propose practical solutions.

Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines on a regular basis.

Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, and reporting.

Qualifications


Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience working with multi-discipline Engineering and R&D teams (e.g., electrical, mechanical, manufacturing).

Demonstrated experience managing projects using formal project management tools and methods.

Experience working for a company selling standard and design-to-order electrical products or components is preferred.

Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification is a plus (optional but attractive).
