Job description

Job Summary

The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and facilitating cross functional teams, ensuring alignment with standard project and Agile/Scrum practices, and owning project execution of initiatives in supporting the IT strategic roadmap. The Project Manager works with a Product Manager and other business stakeholders to determine scope and priorities, plan budget, manage expectations, regularly report project and team progress, and coordinate project delivery across the enterprise, utilizing the portfolio management methodology, framework, and governance. This role provides initiative/project status and conducts monthly steering team meetings to manage the project, implementation, and support. Provides servant leadership to an agile team by educating and coaching agile team members and stakeholders to maximize efficiencies, delivering incremental customer value, and embracing continuous improvement. This position will be part of the Information Technology team.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Lead cross functional teams including internal resources and third parties/vendors in daily stand-ups, iteration planning and reviews while monitoring the project delivery and team progress.
  • Identify and manage risks, mitigate impediments, and negotiate dependencies within and across teams to assist team in meeting deliverable commitments.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Technical team members to understand business problem, project deliverables and ensure work is delivered on schedule, within budget and meets target scope.
  • Promote and maintain open and clear lines of communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure the teamโ€™s success.
  • Manage agile development tools to support product backlog, sprint workload, team capacity, and test plans.
  • Manage post-release project incidents to resolution and conduct root cause/corrective action follow-up activities.
  • Manage project resources and budgets with the portfolio management tool.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate status document for inclusion in the IT initiative portfolio and dashboard(s).
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience
  • 5 to 7 yearsโ€™ work experience leading teams using agile and hybrid agile/waterfall practices.
  • Basic knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Strong sense of ownership with regard to project leadership
  • Understanding of business analysis best practices and ability to facilitate and document requirements.
  • Understanding of quality assurance best practices, test plan development, and plan execution.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement, encourage collaboration and communicate effectively (written and verbal) across multiple levels in the organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing work demands and multiple initiatives at the same time.
  • PMP and Agile/Scrum certifications preferred
  • Preference for work experience in delivering enterprise solutions used by Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service. Such solutions include CRM, service and repair operations, organization websites and applications, and learning management systems.
  • Preference for experience in delivering enterprise solutions used by manufacturing and product engineering. Such solutions include BOM tracker, MES (Solumina iSeries, PLM(Windchill.)
  • Previous experience with agile project management tools such as Atlassian Jira or Microsoft Azure DevOps preferred.
