Job description

Underground Wet Utilities – Construction Superintendent

Reports to: Operations
Position: Full Time (Supervisory)
Location: Lathrop, CA HQ (daily travel required; primarily Bay Area)

About the Role

Talus Construction is seeking a Superintendent to manage daily site operations to ensure successful project completion within budget and schedule. You will oversee site personnel and equipment, ensure safety compliance, inspect work quality against plans/specifications, coordinate materials, and provide daily communication to the Project Manager. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and knowledge of construction plans and specifications are essential.

Key Responsibilities

·         Project Oversight: Lead day-to- day operations to complete projects on time, within budget, and to specifications.

·         Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate construction crews and equipment; assign 

tasks; manage work schedules and material deliveries; build strong teams that perform work 

timely.

·         Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety regulations; promote a culture of zero 

lost-time accidents.

·         Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure compliance with project plans/specifications and 

company quality standards.

·         Cost Control: Manage materials and equipment; notify the Project Manager of budget-related issues and/or change order issues.

·         Coordination: Coordinate crews, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain smooth 

project progress.

·         Reporting: Maintain daily logs and submit reports on project status, crew performance, and potential issues.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

·         Construction Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifi-cations.

·         Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate teams, resolve 

conflicts, and communicate effectively.

·         Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve on-site issues and make sound, timely decisions.

·         Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with stake-holders and provide clear direction.

·         Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer use for communication and reporting.

·         Experience: Proven experience in construction project supervision of infrastructure 

projects.

Position Includes

·         Company pickup or vehicle allowance (to be discussed)

·         Fuel card covering fuel for project-related travel

·         Union benefits if applicable; otherwise company plan

Location & Physical Requirements

·         Reports out of company headquarters in Lathrop, California
