Job description

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Traveling Structured Cabling Technician to join our growing team. This position requires frequent travel to customer sites to install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Install cable pathways including J-hooks, cable trays, conduit, and ladder racks.
  • Mount and install network racks, cabinets, patch panels, and related hardware.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and network diagrams.
  • Test and certify cable installations using industry-standard testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair structured cabling systems.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of structured cabling experience preferred.
  • Experience with commercial low-voltage installations.
  • Ability to terminate copper and fiber cabling.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and lifts.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.

Requirements

  • Must have your own basic hand tools for structured cabling work.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle for transportation to job sites.
  • Valid driver's license
