Team: Buying, Merchandising

Location: Hybrid on-site at the Studio McGee | Mcgee & Co. HQ in Draper, UT (1-2 days in office per week)

The Assistant Buyer supports the Hard Goods buying team through day-to-day operational execution, product management, and cross-functional coordination. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate product information, managing purchase orders, supporting vendor communication, and ensuring seasonal assortments are executed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update product information across internal systems, including pricing, product costs, availability, and MAP policies
  • Support purchase order management through PO creation, revisions, tracking, maintenance, cancellations, and vendor setup
  • Research and resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, product information, and vendor communication
  • Coordinate closely with fulfillment, operations, and vendor partners regarding PO receiving, shipping updates, RTVs, quality issues, and seasonal launches
  • Assist with assortment setup and product data management to support accurate and timely product launches
  • Build and maintain positive vendor relationships while supporting communication related to timelines, product updates, and order management
  • Prepare reporting and competitive analysis related to market trends, promotions, and assortment activity for the merchandising team
  • Support Buyers and Associate Buyers with operational tasks, project coordination, and execution of seasonal merchandising initiatives
  • Maintain strong organization and accuracy across multiple projects, timelines, and systems in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, planning, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize deadlines and adapt to changing business needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience with NetSuite, Shopify, and/or retail systems preferred
