Job Description Manager Transportation Shared Services This position is hybrid working 3 days a week in our Legacy West Support Center located in Plano, Texas About Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. We are the leader in professional hair color, selling and distributing professional beauty supplies across 11 countries through our Sally Beauty and Beauty Systems Group businesses. Sally Beauty offers products for hair color, hair care, nails, and skin care to retail customers looking for salon quality products at a value price. Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers. About the role The Manager, Transportation Shared Services leads a centralized shared service function supporting Transportation operations through process standardization, technology-driven automation, analytics, and disciplined execution. This role provides end-to-end project management for Transportation initiatives-including automation, process improvement, and capability build-out-ensuring delivery aligned to business objectives. The role also serves as an AI Champion, driving adoption of intelligent tools to improve service performance, operational efficiency, accuracy, and cost outcomes. The position supports all aspects of transportation operations, such as inbound and outbound store deliveries, eCommerce and international freight, through strong internal and external partnerships, continuous improvement, and a customer-focused service model, while providing leadership to Transportation staff and promoting Sally Beauty Holdings values. Responsibilities 30% Shared Services Operations & Enablement
  • Operate the Transportation Shared Services function supporting inbound, outbound, parcel, pool, and freight audit activities.
  • Standardize recurring transportation processes, establish SLAs, and manage intake and prioritization of shared service requests.
Serve as the first point of escalation for systemic or cross-functional transportation issues. 25% Data, Analytics & Performance Management
  • Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and recurring reporting for cost, service, compliance, and productivity metrics.
  • Provide insights and root-cause analysis to support Transportation decision-making.
25% Automation, AI & Technology Enablement
  • Act as AI Champion for Transportation, identifying and deploying automation solutions for high-volume, critical tasks.
  • Lead adoption of Robotic Process Automation (RPA), workflow automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual effort and execution risk.
  • Partner with IT, Analytics, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure automation solutions.
20% Team Leadership & Governance
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a shared services team with a strong execution, automation, and project discipline mindset.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured execution and post-project reviews.
Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of transportation, or distribution experience in a retail or high-volume environment, with hands-on experience driving automation, digital workflows, or AI-enabled improvements within transportation operations.
  • Hands-on experience using analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar) to monitor transportation performance and support data-driven decisions.
  • Proven tech-driven mindset, with experience leading automation, workflow digitization, or AI-enabled solutions within transportation or supply chain operations.
  • Ability to act as an automation and AI champion for Transportation, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, enhance service performance, and scale shared service capabilities

  • Practical experience with TMS, Freight Audit systems, and operational reporting
  • Comfortable working in a goal- and metrics-driven environment
  • Strategic, tech-forward thinker with interest in automation and AI-enabled improvements

Working conditions & physical requirements The work may require some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking; recurring bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as record boxes.
