We're seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine innovative AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction.
We're looking for a Principal Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to drive manufacturing design and execution. You will be an extension of the senior leadership team and will drive collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, construction, and operations teams to ensure our plans are aligned and critical paths are tackled as effectively as possible.
This is an exciting opportunity to start from a blank slate and use first principles fundamentals to execute on a fully integrated product with the ambition to enable the most advanced high volume manufacturing in the world.
Key job responsibilities
Program Leadership & Coordination:
- Own manufacturing design & construction process and coordination across planning, design, construction, manufacturing integration and ramp through handover to operations teams
- 'Concept to completion' ownership of your programs with full accountability for program success
- Own Plan of Record and scope definition by integrating comprehensive factory requirements, layouts, and goals
- Establish and maintain program governance mechanisms including regular leadership reviews and cross-functional alignment
Cross-Functional Integration:
- Own scoping efforts by pulling together cross-functional teams, understanding their needs, driving technical planning, defining options/trade-offs/cost/schedule/impacts
- Secure alignment between working teams and leadership teams through effective stakeholder management
- Be the bridge that secures program alignment between large cross-functional teams: manufacturing, production, engineering, construction, facilities, material flow, and workplace spaces
- Apply 'Customer Obsession' by ensuring all stakeholders' needs are understood and integrated into program planning
Technical Program Management:
- Own program schedule, requirements, and reporting tools for visibility on progress, risks, changes, and mitigation strategies
- Fundamentally understand and scrutinize technical stakeholders' requirements and translate them into project scope with clear execution plan and responsibilities
- Drive leadership reviews, funding requests & cross-functional investigations and studies
- Establish data-driven decision making mechanisms and continuous improvement processes
Operational Excellence:
- Apply 'Deliver Results' through rigorous program management and execution discipline
- Drive 'Bias for Action' in resolving blockers and accelerating critical path activities
- Implement risk management frameworks and contingency planning
- Establish mechanisms for continuous learning and process improvement

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent

- 8+ years of engineering experience on manufacturing and industrial projects from concept to delivery
- Advanced project management skills and demonstrated application of program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems
- Experience managing programs with multi-million dolla budgets and broad, cross-functional teams stakeholder
- Expertise in manufacturing, material flow and construction
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment installation, and facility integration
- Experience with manufacturing ramp-up and production readiness activities
- Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and safety management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to understand complex problems and distill into clear execution plans via written and verbal communication
- Experience managing conflicting objectives and compressed timelines within complex industrial project execution
- Ability to navigate ambiguous environments

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
