Job description

HGA is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Project Manager to support client operations by serving in an Owner's Representative role. This position is responsible for coordinating between Distributed Control System (DCS) suppliers, third party vendors, engineering/design partners, and internal stakeholders. The role focuses on managing technical and commercial interfaces, summarizing complex information, and supporting informed decision making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Owner's Representative for E&I and control systems scope on industrial projects.
  • Act as a primary coordination point between DCS suppliers, third party equipment and package vendors, engineering/design firms, and internal stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and summarize technical and commercial information to support timely and well informed decisions.
  • Facilitate communication to ensure alignment between design intent, vendor deliverables, and operational requirements.
  • Review vendor drawings, data sheets, and technical specifications for compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Support evaluation of vendor proposals and provide technical clarifications as needed.
  • Assist with control system architecture reviews, integration strategies, and interface management.
  • Participate in design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and other key project milestones as required.
  • Identify and communicate risks, gaps, and conflicts related to E&I and automation scope.
  • Support overall project execution by tracking action items, deliverables, and coordination activities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience in E&I, process control, and/or automation systems within industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with DCS platforms and control system suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of vendor coordination, technical documentation review, and design integration.
  • Proven ability to distill complex technical information into clear summaries and recommendations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience working in an Owner's Representative or Owner's Project Management capacity.
  • Experience supporting large?scale industrial or manufacturing facilities.
  • Background in control system modernization, upgrades, or migrations.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office based with periodic travel to project sites, vendor facilities, or testing locations as required.
  • Collaborative work environment with internal and external project stakeholders.
