Job description

Malace|HR is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager Industrial Construction to oversee complex industrial construction projects at an active client site in Greensboro, NC. This position requires a hands-on leader with extensive field experience who is comfortable working on live construction sites while managing project schedules, budgets, safety, quality, and client relationships.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of industrial construction, and proven experience managing projects in active construction environments. Candidates must have real-world field experiencenot solely office-based project management experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead industrial construction projects from planning through project closeout.
  • Maintain a regular presence on active construction sites to oversee daily operations and project execution.
  • Coordinate activities between contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and client stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve field issues to minimize delays.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide regular updates to leadership and clients.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Oversee quality assurance and ensure work is completed to project specifications.
  • Manage project documentation and maintain accurate project records.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Foster strong working relationships with field personnel, leadership teams, and clients.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management certification.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience in industrial construction.
  • Demonstrated experience working on active/live construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Experience managing industrial construction projects from inception through completion.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with field personnel, contractors, executives, and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience managing budgets, schedules, documentation, and quality control.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
  • Experience with Lean Construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Procore
    • Primavera P6
    • Microsoft Project
    • Bluebeam
  • Experience supporting warehouse, manufacturing, distribution center, or logistics facility construction.
