About the Role 

We’re looking for a Project Manager that will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, financial management, and successful delivery of construction projects in alignment with PMEP standards. This role has full ownership of assigned projects from preconstruction handoff through closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams. This role partners closely with Superintendents and field leadership to drive coordination, maintain accountability, and uphold PMEP’s commitment to operational excellence. The Project Manager operates with autonomy on standard-complexity projects and collaborates with Senior Project Managers or Sector Leaders on larger or highly complex projects.


Core Responsibilities

  • Project Financial Management
    • Develop and maintain project budgets from buyout through closeout.
    • Manage cost forecasting, cost reporting, and financial projections monthly.
    • Analyze budget variances and implement corrective actions to protect profitability.
    • Review and approve subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices.
    • Manage owner billings and ensure timely and accurate submission.
    • Oversee change order pricing, negotiation, and execution.
    • Maintain responsibility for project margin performance.


  • Project Execution and Scheduling
    • Develop and maintain overall project schedule in collaboration with field leadership.
    • Monitor project milestones and proactively address schedule risks.
    • Ensure subcontractor scopes are clearly defined and aligned with project requirements.
    • Lead project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support field teams in resolving constructability and sequencing challenges.
    • Ensure procurement of long-lead materials aligns with schedule demands.


  • Client and Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as primary client contact for assigned projects.
    • Maintain consistent communication regarding project progress, risks, and financial status.
    • Build and sustain strong relationships with owners, design teams, and subcontractors.
    • Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Represent PMEP in project meetings and external communications.


  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Identify and mitigate project risks related to budget, schedule, safety, and quality.
    • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and project specifications.
    • Partner with Safety and Quality teams to maintain adherence to company standards.
    • Review and manage subcontract agreements and ensure scope clarity. 
    • Maintain organized and complete project documentation.


  • Team Leadership and Collaboration
    • Partner with Superintendents to align field operations with project objectives.
    • Provide clear direction to Project Engineers and support their development.
    • Foster accountability and communication across project teams.
    • Support a collaborative environment between field and office operations.
    • Escalate major project risks or financial concerns to senior leadership when appropriate.


  • Project Closeout
    • Ensure timely completion of punch list and turnover documentation.
    • Oversee collection of warranties, as-builts, and required closeout materials.
    • Confirm financial reconciliation and project margin accuracy at closeout.
    • Lead project debriefs to identify lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities.


  • Field and Physical Requirements
    • Travel to active construction sites as required.
    • Walk active job sites, including uneven surfaces and elevated areas.
    • Climb stairs and ladders as necessary to review project progress.
    • Lift and carry documents, plans, and project materials as needed.
    • Work at a computer for extended periods to manage budgets, schedules, and documentation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction project management experience required.
  • Experience managing commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, and scheduling required.
  • Proficiency in project management and financial software systems required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites required.
