Job description

Reports to: Construction Manager

Works closely with: Lead Superintendent, Superintendents, Site Quality Manager, Site Safety Manager, Owners, Subcontractors

ย 

Position Summary:

Signal Energy is searching for a Craft Safety for the solar energy projects. This position is located in the field at the project site.ย ย  Must be willing and able to commute to and from the job site on a daily basis.

Activities/ Responsibilities/ Duties:

  • ย Acts as an advocate for Signal Energy, LLC by promoting companyย culture,ย policies and procedures and promoting a positive attitude towards the goals of each project. Must represent Signal Energy professionally with clients, subcontractors, local officials, and others at all times.
  • ย Assist crew members with completing daily paperwork, including but not limited to, job safety analysis, work instructions (WIโ€™s), and permit to work forms and inspections
  • ย Complete and document weekly job site audits
  • ย Audit and assist with management of spill kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, barricades, power tool inspections, electrical inspections, generators, and wheel chocks
  • ย Assist with issuing and distributing PPE to crews, as needed
  • ย Exercise stop-work authority by partnering with front line supervisors when necessary.
  • ย Facilitates site-specific trainings, including but not limited to orientations and safety trainings as needed
  • ย Assist Safety Team in delivering Toolbox Talks and bend and stretch as needed
  • ย Ability to learn work installation processes and actively engage with crew members to promote safety culture
  • Work with theย Safetyย Manager, Project Manager, and Construction Manager to ensure that the needs of the field Safetyย programย are being addressed.ย 
  • Work with the project team that continuously assesses the Safety of the work performed, track and assure corrective actions are completed in accordance with Signal Energyโ€™s Safety Policies and Procedures.ย 
  • Championย the ALLSAFE cultural safety program,ย and Signal Energyโ€™s Core Principles and Missionย 
  • Assist theย Siteย Safety Manager in developing and maintaining a site-specific safety plan, including emergency action,ย response, evacuation, and security plans.ย 
  • Constantly solves problems and resolves issues through face to face and personal communication.ย 
  • ย Physical demands include all actions required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job which include mobility on and around construction sites, ability to climb 300โ€™ ladder, working at height, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 poundsย 
  • All other duties assigned. ย

Education/ Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • OSHA 510 / OSHA 500 (both preferred but not required)
  • Current valid driverโ€™s license
  • 2 years construction safety experience preferred.
