About Us

We are an established beauty retail store expanding into e-commerce. We carry approximately 10,000 SKUs across multiple brands and are building a Shopify-based online store integrated with our Lightspeed POS system. We are looking for a highly organized E-commerce Operations & Project Manager to own the day-to-day execution of the e-commerce launch and ongoing operations.

Role Overview

This role is responsible for launching and operating our online store while ensuring smooth integration with our in-store operations. You will manage outside Shopify developers and contractors, coordinate product catalog setup, and ensure inventory and order workflows work correctly between Lightspeed and Shopify.

This is a hands-on operational role. You do not need to be a full-time developer, but you must be comfortable working with technical vendors and managing an e-commerce build.

Key Responsibilities

E-commerce Launch & Project Management

  • Manage the Shopify store build from planning through launch
  • Coordinate external Shopify developers, designers, and contractors
  • Create and manage project timelines, task lists, and milestones
  • Review deliverables and ensure work meets quality standards
  • Track budget and manage vendor invoices

Lightspeed + Shopify Integration

  • Oversee Lightspeed product and inventory sync with Shopify
  • Test inventory accuracy, order flow, and returns processes
  • Ensure pricing, tax, shipping, and promotions are configured correctly
  • Document workflows for store staff and internal operations

Product Catalog & Merchandising

  • Manage product uploads, categories, tags, and collections
  • Ensure product pages are accurate, clean, and customer-friendly
  • Coordinate product photography, descriptions, and key attributes
  • Support merchandising strategies (best sellers, new arrivals, bundles)

Store Operations & Ongoing Management

  • Monitor daily order flow, customer issues, and fulfillment
  • Work with store staff to ensure online orders are handled properly
  • Manage app tools (reviews, loyalty, email marketing, search, etc.)
  • Track site performance and report on key KPIs (traffic, conversion, AOV)

Optimization & Growth Support

  • Coordinate promotions, sales, and seasonal campaigns
  • Identify conversion improvements and work with contractors to implement them
  • Support SEO basics and site content organization
  • Recommend improvements based on customer behavior and analytics

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in e-commerce operations, e-commerce project management, or online retail
  • Experience working with Shopify (managing store operations, apps, or builds)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working with external developers/agencies (outsourced work)
  • Comfortable working with large product catalogs (1,000+ SKUs; 5,000+ preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail (inventory, pricing, product data accuracy)

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Lightspeed POS (Retail)
  • Experience launching an online store for a physical retail business
  • Understanding of product catalog management and variant setup
