Job Description Job Title - Configuration Engineer I Number of Positions - 1 Job Location - 1 River Road, Schenectady, New York, United States of America, 12345-6000 Job Start Date - 8/24/26 Job End Date - 8/23/27 Pay Rate: $30- $35/hr W2 + Benefits Working Model: Hybrid, 3 days in office per week, prefer local candidates only Working Hours: 8am - 5pm CORE hours, 40 hours per week Duration: 12 months with possible extension, possible temp to perm No travel required outside of being on-site 3 days per week Interview Process: Virtual with cameras on, panel with GEV manager and additional GEV team members, 1 round Responsibilities The Gas Turbine Configuration Management (CM) organization is responsible for transforming product requirements as well as engineering design intent into actionable product definition. Through utilization of our Product Lifecycle Management (GTCC) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) space, we can deliver on-time and quality product definition to supply chain functions globally. Gas Power Engineering (GPE) end-customers are also partners and consumers of CM output.

The Order to Remittance (OTR) CM organization is focused on the creation and maintenance of the project structure and Bill of Materials (BOM) for New Unit Requisitions from Order Release through the equipment's Commercial Operation Date (COD), in addition to supporting Conversion, Modification and Uprate (CMU) projects. The Engineer - OTR Config Mgmt, Project Structuring ST/GEN is responsible for generating and managing New Unit requisitions' Flange to Flange (F2F) and Accessories project structures for Steam Turbine and Generator products. The role will also cover the management of ST/GEN CMU Bill of Materials (BOMs) Specifically, this position is responsible for the following tasks: Create and maintain Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Unit BOMs along with the conversion and push of Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) to various ERP systems (PowerMax etc.) throughout the project's lifecycle Support Inquiry to Order (ITO) team (Commercial and Application Engineering) in the successful OTR transition of project scope definition in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) GTCC tool, or equivalent, after Order Release Meeting (ORM) Collaborate with the Project Engineering on the timely handoff of the requisition's scope definition within the PLM tool, or equivalent, to the OTR CM team Verify accurate generation of logical features per selected configuration features options and Variant Configuration Central (VCC) logic within PLM tool, or other established method, and enact necessary actions to resolve discrepancies in collaboration with the ITO CM team Support Preliminary Bill of Materials (PBOM) review meeting for Steam Turbine, and Generator products Validate standrad parts selected through GBOM rules and support Configure to Order (CtO) efforts maximize direct release percentage on requisition orders Assist manufacturing and MSD sourcing teams in addressing concerns with bill of material timeliness and disconnects, conduct regular BOM integrity monitoring and reporting Execute CM's role and responsibilities in Change Management processes Collaborate with other functions (such as Sourcing, Manufacturing, Project Engineering, Design Engineering, other CMPD teams, etc.) towards continuous improvement and Lean activities Ensure that CM activities follow the GE Gas Power procedures, processes, as well as contractual requirement Qualifications - Required Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Computer Science Experience in process use and development with regards to product definition development, Bill of Material management, configuration management concepts, program/project scheduling and field installation Qualifications - Desired Clear thinking, open to new ideas and demonstrated experience in the implementation of new tools and processes Demonstrated dedication to GEV Code of Conduct, high level of integrity PLM (product lifecycle management) systems experience.
