JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall safe and efficient production and/or delivery of ready-mix concrete and building materials while being responsible for marketing, sales of ready-mix concrete and related customer service in assigned territory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manages and oversees the operations of multiple plants, mixer drivers, and sales.
  • Perform daily equipment and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained
  • Conduct required catwalk conversation meetings daily/weekly.
  • Safely and properly, operate ready mix plant.
  • Ensure appropriate material to produce quality concrete per job specifications.
  • Communicate with quality control personnel and make required adjustments to material blends.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
  • Self-motivated, team player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and always act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Lead personnel at plant and work with dispatch to schedule drivers.
  • Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
  • Accurately complete company reports, and other documentation as needed.
  • Develop relationships with current and potential clients in and around our market
  • Identify new markets and target specific accounts and prospects
  • Follow up on leads and create new customer base through cold calling and relationship building
  • Present verbal quotes to routine customers
  • Review, discuss and present proposals and pricing with team members and clients
  • Identify and resolve client concerns and issues
  • Act as job or project manager, when necessary
  • Work with Quality Control personnel to ensure product meets specific requirement of customer
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows on occasion
  • Manage sales process from initial sale to service to collection of funds
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Concrete technical knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of local and rural geographic areas
  • Must maintain a minimum Class B CDL with air brakes.
  • Ability to read, write and figure mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Maintain good safety and driving records.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
  • Must work well with others in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
  • Must be able to understand and adhere to the safety requirements of this position.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100lbs of weight.
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders at elevated heights
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sitting
  • Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
