Job description

Project Manager

As a leading Heavy Civil Contractor, our client is seeking qualified applicants for a Project Manager position within our Heavy & Highway division in the Boston area. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, budget, and supervise construction highway and bridge projects from development to completion.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Constructability input and/or actual estimating of projects.
  • Oversight and responsibility for setup, scheduling, executing and closing out assigned construction projects.
  • Oversee job and resource scheduling through coordination with the project superintendent/general superintendents, equipment operations, and others within HRI as required.
  • Properly delegate and assign task to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinates, organizes, and directs activities of the construction crew.
  • Monitors all steps of the operation to ensure Standard Quality and Operating Practices and guidelines are being followed.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Devise and implement cost saving strategies.
  • Perform administrative activities such as scheduling crews, completing reports, conducting safety conversations, and complying other reporting as necessary.
  • Provide financial leadership for the project and maximize its profitability.

Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in heavy highway construction.
  • Experience in P6 or other CPM scheduling software.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's licenses.
  • Adhere to safety procedures/guidelines at all times.
  • Punctuality, consistent attendance and self-direction for the success of the operations.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
