Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer, P.E. to join our growing team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This is an opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to combine technical expertise, project leadership, and client relationship management while helping support the continued growth of our geotechnical practice throughout the region.

Our Bridgeport office is one of the region's fastest growing multidisciplinary engineering offices, bringing together more than 130 engineers, scientists, surveyors, and technical professionals. In this role, you'll collaborate with experts across civil engineering, transportation, environmental, water resources, survey, and construction services.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout all phases of project delivery
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, and client relationship management
  • Oversee field drilling and sampling operations, ensuring quality and safety in data collection
  • Prepare and review boring logs, laboratory testing programs, and geotechnical data analysis
  • Lead and contribute to the design of geotechnical elements including foundations, slopes, and retaining structures
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project documentation
  • Provide geotechnical input across a variety of projects, including building foundations, landslide remediation, and infrastructure improvements
  • Oversee construction materials testing services, including earthwork, concrete, foundations, masonry, and pavements
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, geologists, and field staff
  • Lead and manage geotechnical subsurface investigations, including planning, coordination, and execution

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in West Virginia or ability to gain reciprocity
  • 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably within a consulting environment
  • Experience managing geotechnical investigations and leading technical project work
  • Strong experience with geotechnical analysis, report preparation, and foundation design
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with clients and project teams
