Erosion Control Central is a leading Environmental consultant and contractor that specialized in Erosion & Sediment Control. Led by a team of exceptional technical experts, we provide exceptional services to developers and contractors with unwavering integrity. The team at ECC is committed to delivering exceptional service, communication, and quality workmanship with every project. ECC is currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing Calgary operations.

The Project Manager will work closely with field crews, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to manage schedules, budgets, procurement, and performance. The primary focus of this role is execution, cost control, and client satisfaction.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead construction projects from award through close-out, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance and scope clarity.
  • Develop, manage, and update project schedules in coordination with field leadership.
  • Manage project budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Prepare and reconcile progress billings, field measurements, and final invoicing.
  • Assist with hiring new staff and mentoring existing staff to provide growth opportunities.
  • Ensuring timely completion of projects to premier standards
  • Working within the budget by adequately estimating the costs and cutting unnecessary expenses.
  • Managing both internal and external risks within the projectโ€™s lifetime.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in heavy civil or municipal construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and drawings.
  • Ability to lead a team by being a positive and effective communicator.
  • Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation.
  • PMP designation or intent to pursue certification is considered an asset.
  • Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating construction crews.
  • Ability to welcome feedback and use it to improve the quality of production.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Valid class 5 Drivers license with a clean abstract.
