Job Summary

Applied Digital is seeking an Data Center Operations Project Manager to drive initiatives that strengthen operational readiness across our rapidly growing Data Center portfolio. This role will be responsible for managing projects that ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency in how our facilities transition from design and construction into long-term operations.

One of the first major focuses of this position will be developing and implementing a central cradle-to-grave lifecycle tracking system that enables oversight of every Data Center asset and milestone — from planning and construction through commissioning, handoff, and ongoing operations. This system will serve as a foundation for future readiness initiatives, providing leadership with visibility and actionable data to improve operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented project manager with strong cross-functional coordination skills, a background in operational process improvement, and the ability to see projects through from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Operational Readiness & Oversight to define and execute strategic projects that ensure Applied Digital’s Data Centers are fully prepared for long-term operations.
  • Drive the development, implementation, and adoption of a centralized lifecycle management tracking system, ensuring cradle-to-grave visibility of Data Center assets and operations milestones.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across construction, operations, IT, and engineering to capture requirements, align priorities, and establish clear project deliverables.
  • Define, document, and standardize operational readiness processes, checklists, and reporting tools to drive consistency across sites.
  • Develop project charters, timelines, and communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and successful delivery.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators related to operational readiness and lifecycle management.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure systems and processes integrate effectively into daily operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lessons learned from projects to strengthen future operational readiness programs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, operations management, or related roles.
  • Proven success managing complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate high-level objectives into actionable project plans.
  • Familiarity with lifecycle or asset management concepts and tools.
  • Proficiency with project management software (Smartsheet required or strongly preferred).

Preferred:

  • Experience in Data Center, technology infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with process mapping, operational readiness programs, or systems integration.

Physical Requirements:

Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.

Working Conditions by Location:

Remote: The Company agrees that Employee may work from home provided employee is in good standing, has a continuous secured internet connection, necessary equipment, and is accessible by MS Teams, phone, fax, and email during business hours. (See Telework policy.)

Office Environment: Business office hours, with work hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions. Some overtime may be required to accomplish timely work demands and meet the company’s professional commitments. Overtime hours worked are paid to nonexempt employees at one and a half times their hourly pay rate.

Site Location: We are a 24-hour facility. Work hours (shifts) are assigned as necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions, ensure compliance, and support efficient company operations. Some positions require work at irregular hours (nights/weekends), overtime, alternating shifts, and working in challenging conditions (heat/cold, hazardous environments, loud worksites). Overtime hours worked are paid to nonexempt employees at one and a half times their hourly pay rate.
