Strategy Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Designer โ€“ Lead who will take a handsโ€‘on role in detailed I&E design activities across a variety of offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. This position is not only responsible for producing technical deliverables but also for leading the Electrical & Instrumentation Design team, managing workload distribution, and contributing to the strategic success of the department.

As a successful candidate, you will own key electrical system design deliverables, such as PLC panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and oneโ€‘line diagrams, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. You will also work closely with project managers and multiโ€‘discipline leads to coordinate design efforts from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design department, including team coordination, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Provide technical direction and design oversight on project deliverables.
  • Develop design estimates and levelโ€‘ofโ€‘effort proposals for new work and project bidding.
  • Distribute work to the design team based on skill sets and project requirements.
  • Coordinate resource scheduling and monitor workloads to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Perform electrical and instrumentation design for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.
  • Generate design documents such as PLC panel layout drawings, oneโ€‘line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting layouts, and installation details.
  • Interface and collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other discipline leads to ensure cohesive, crossโ€‘functional execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation design, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, including 3D modeling, and Navisworks.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities design standards.
  • Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Skilled in producing detailed design drawings and reviewing vendor documentation.
  • Experience with wiring installation details and creating constructionโ€‘ready documentation.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
