We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead manufacturing operations for a growing, high-mix, high-reliability manufacturing organization. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic, hands-on leader who excels at developing people, improving operational processes, and building scalable systems that support continued growth.

This position will oversee multiple functional areas, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Planning, Purchasing, Materials Management, and Facilities. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can drive operational excellence while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership across manufacturing operations, engineering, planning, purchasing, materials management, and facilities.
  • Lead and develop a team of managers, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Improve production planning, scheduling, capacity management, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Drive operational efficiency through Lean principles, process improvements, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Sales, Finance, and HR to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations including machining, welding, assembly, testing, cleanroom production, and related support functions.
  • Strengthen ERP utilization, operational dashboards, reporting, and process automation.
  • Champion employee development through coaching, succession planning, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Provide strategic oversight of a 53,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and facility maintenance.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience in a high-mix, low-volume, precision manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or highly regulated production environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, materials management, inventory control, and ERP systems (Epicor experience is a plus).
  • Experience supporting Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering functions.
  • Proven ability to improve operational performance through Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics to drive decisions.
  • Technology-forward mindset with an interest in automation, digital manufacturing tools, and AI-enabled operational improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent leadership experience will be considered.
