Job description

Malace|HR is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager Industrial Construction to support a large industrial manufacturing facility in Baltimore, MD. This role is responsible for leading complex industrial construction projects on an active manufacturing site while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive field experience managing industrial construction projects, thrives in fast-paced environments, and possesses exceptional communication and leadership skills. Candidates must have direct experience working on active construction sites and be comfortable collaborating with contractors, engineers, plant personnel, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage industrial construction projects from planning and design through commissioning and project closeout.
  • Maintain a strong field presence by overseeing daily project activities on active construction sites.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and resolve construction issues to minimize delays and maintain productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and company safety standards.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and milestones to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Oversee quality assurance and verify that all work meets project specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to maintain project objectives.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, field personnel, leadership, and project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management credential.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience within industrial construction environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects on active/live construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage complex industrial construction projects from inception through completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage contractors, field personnel, plant leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in project documentation, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial construction safety practices.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt in a fast-paced construction environment.
