Overview
Growing mid-size architecture studio located in Long Beach, California is seeking highly motivated Project Managers of all levels to work on healthcare and institutional projects. (The position could be located in either the LA or San Diego office. Fully remote work options are available. Candidatates can be residing outside of California; however, must be based in PST, MST or CST time zone.)
The winning candidates will work directly with the Design Team and company leaders. This company is a successful healthcare design firm that has seen significant growth over the last 5 years. This 50+ person firm has received acclaim for its award-winning healthcare designs for clients including Kaiser Permanente, UCLA, and Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Voted as one of the "Best Places to Work" for healthcare, designers and architects at this firm never leave! This is one of our first clients and candidates love it here. (Note: Opportunity for fully remote available with occasional travel to job sites.)
Overall Responsibilities
  • Support Management and lead the project administratively from client proposal to project closeout
  • Ability, skills, and motivation to act as independent project manager

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist team in business development efforts to win new projects as required
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our clients and building a strong relationship based on trust, value, and expertise
  • Identifies and pursues new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Provide leadership and management necessary for all facets of projects and responsible for achieving overall project goals.
  • Lead communication between client and our firm, ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues including contracts and additional services
  • Lead and coordinate communication efforts with client, consultants and within project team.
  • Manage professional service agreements and amendments with clients and consultants
  • Establish and ensures adherence to project budget and contracted fee.
  • Prepare, manage, and oversee project schedule to ensure that design decisions and documentation are complete at critical milestones and to meet contractual obligations
  • Work with the Design Team to execute the vision and spirit of the design for assigned projects and ensuring that constructability methods and technologies are explored and implemented
  • Manage the project manual as it relates to contractual obligations (i.e. bid instructions, bid forms, schedules of values)
  • Manage and review pay applications with contractors
  • Manage billing review for clients and consultants
  • Manages collections for assigned projects
  • Responsible for quality assurance
  • Motivate and mentor junior staff ensuring their professional development and leading by example
  • Identify ways to innovate and improve the accuracy and efficiency of our processes

Qualifications
  • Ability to manage and appraise own working practices
  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, relationship management skills, organizational skills, and ability to work under own initiative
  • Ability to lead project groups
  • An articulate presenter
  • OSHPD/HCAI experience is preferred, but not required
  • Healthcare management experience is required

Project Manager 1 0 - 8 years of experience as a Project Manager handling multiple projects. Receives guidance on complex projects.
Project Manager 2 8 or more years of experience as a Project Manager managing multiple various size projects and coordinates all aspects of assigned projects.
Project Manager 3 10 or more years of experience as a Project Manager who coordinates all project efforts in order to ensure effective execution, prepares strategic plans and serves as primary client liaison. Handles the most complex projects of the largest magnitude.
