Location: Miami, Florida | Full-Time | Reports to: Senior Project Manager
MODIS Architects is seeking an experienced Project Manager II to join our team in Miami. This role supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of architectural projects under the direction of a Project Manager III or Senior Project Manager.
The ideal candidate brings strong architectural and technical knowledge, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management & Coordination
  • Assist in defining project scope, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Support projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Coordinate project tasks and deliverables across internal teams and external consultants.
  • Monitor project progress and help ensure established schedules, budgets, and quality standards are maintained.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Assist in managing client expectations and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project coordination efforts.
  • Help ensure project objectives remain aligned with client needs and expectations.
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support quality control procedures throughout all phases of the project.
  • Help ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, life-safety standards, and other regulatory requirements.
Permitting & Regulatory Coordination
  • Support permitting and regulatory approval processes.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory agencies to address comments and compliance matters.
  • Apply and continue developing knowledge of zoning requirements, building codes, life-safety codes, flood requirements, and local permitting processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of bid packages, addenda, bid RFIs, and contractor evaluations.
Construction Administration
  • Assist in responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings and submittals.
  • Participate in site visits and construction progress meetings as required.
  • Assist with reviewing contractor schedules, payment applications, cost reports, and change orders.
  • Support project cost control and coordination throughout construction.
Budget, Contracts & Project Administration
  • Support project budget tracking and financial monitoring.
  • Review consultant invoices and project expenses for alignment with executed agreements.
  • Assist with proposals, contracts, and additional service requests.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to support accurate project billing and financial reporting.
  • Monitor project staffing, timekeeping, project coding, and resource allocation.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
  • Actively participate in project and team coordination meetings.
  • Demonstrate developing leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Support and mentor junior team members as appropriate.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5–10 years of professional architectural experience, preferably with similar project types.
  • Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Architectural licensure preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with construction/project management platforms such as Procore or PlanGrid preferred.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, life-safety requirements, accessibility standards, and permitting processes.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish highly preferred.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience navigating building permit processes with local and state authorities.
  • Knowledge of building codes, life-safety codes, and flood requirements.
  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
  • Additional certifications such as LEED, CDT, CCS, or CCCA are preferred.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety training required within 90 days of employment; OSHA 30-hour preferred.
