About the Role
The Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing Transmission and Substation power delivery projects from inception to completion. This role demands a proactive and organized professional with exceptional communication an technical skills. This is a customer facing position performed at the customer site.
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the transmission system, engineering principles, electric operating practices, construction practices, land requirements and regulations, budgeting, scheduling, and general business practices.
  • Evaluate progress, identify problem areas, evaluate alternatives, and determine viable solutions.
  • Analyze and Control project costs over time. schedules, work plans, and budgets lead team efforts, identify critical paths, and resolve conflict.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Lead projects involving multiple work groups and departments.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, including executives, management, supervision, covered employees, contract employees, business leaders, and customers.
  • Present project communications to internal and external audiences.
  • Conduct financial analysis, manage capital budgets and provide accurate budget projections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and manage multiple project schedules, work plans, and budgets.
  • Assist in contract administration.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, finance, Business or the equivalent degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing major engineering/procurement construction activities.
  • Analytical thinking capability - knowledge of distribution line, substation projects, and transmission would be preferred. Comparable experience in Generation will be considered.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Experience managing projects requiring public and regulatory approvals.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve problems, analyze data, write reports, and make presentations.
  • Possesses the ability to cope with deadlines, manage time, set priorities, define roles and responsibilities, and make decisions.
  • Ability to run meetings, motivate others, and interact with others at all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to schedule, plan and manage numerous complex transmission projects concurrently.
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills, including listening, speaking, and writing skills.
  • Individual leadership abilities, planning skills, decisiveness, and customer focus.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership, teambuilding, coaching, problem solving, interpersonal and motivational skills required.
  • Ability to develop skills to prepare presentations and expert witness testimony for local and state regulatory presentations.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
