Job description

Network Cabling Services (NCS) is hiring experienced Fiber Optic Technicians to support commercial, industrial, and data center projects in the Houston area and surrounding regions. This role requires travel and strong hands-on experience in fiber installation, testing, and troubleshooting within critical environments.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables
  • Terminate fiber using anaerobic connectors (LC, ST, SC)
  • Conduct testing using OTDR and power meters
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic issues in the field
  • Ensure all work meets industry and safety standards
  • Install, route, and manage fiber within data center environments
  • Must be able to travel
Data Center Experience (Required)
  • Experience working in live/critical data center environments
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems (fiber & copper)
  • Familiarity with:
  • Rack and stack installations
  • Cable tray and ladder rack systems
  • Patch panels and cross-connects
  • Ability to follow strict change management and access protocols
  • Understanding TIA-942 standards and data center best practices.
