Service Delivery Project Manager (Fiber Optic Network Provider)

Location: Allen, Texas

They are a leading provider of high performance fiber optic networking solutions, delivering scalable, secure, and resilient connectivity throughout the United States, with an emphasis on reliability, diversity, and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Service Delivery Project Manager is responsible for the end to end delivery of multiple concurrent, complex, cross organizational projects and programs. This includes new product development, fulfillment of new services, network and infrastructure builds, and systems/OSS initiatives. The role owns overall administration, adherence to timeline, budget, and scope, risk management, project documentation, and management reporting, with a focus on consistently meeting or beating expected results.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan, develop, and manage project plans and timelines, with a focus on managing the critical path, performing gap analysis, and bringing projects in on or before schedule.
  • Serve as the Project Manager for all newly deployed products and services, running live Proof of Concept (POC) efforts and establishing product business rules, documentation, and processes.
  • Once a POC is validated, work with Service Delivery Managers to transition the product to the standard Service Delivery team.
  • Perform routine data collection, organization, workflow, and support analysis.
  • Own and enforce the action item register, and document and publish meeting minutes.
  • Provide customers, the project team, and stakeholders with written and verbal communications, including project status reports and presentations.
  • Coordinate, collaborate, and manage project resources to meet project deliverables and constraints.
  • Issue consistent project status updates to sponsors, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Define workflow improvements and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Interact with cross functional teams including Construction, Engineering, Product and Marketing, Business Planning, IT, Operations, and Logistics.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of service provider experience in network project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience required; a master's degree or equivalent is a plus.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Project and PERT/Gantt chart creation and planning.
  • Proficiency in Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint required; SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across executives, senior management, peers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of concurrent priorities while remaining focused on delivery.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high pressure, deadline driven environment.

  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Visual acuity required.
