Job description

Project Manager

As Boingoโ€™s Project Manager youโ€™ll take charge of projects to fulfill our agreements with a variety of venues. Youโ€™ll manage the implementation of DAS projects from sales to successful rollover to O&M phase and you will work closely with site owners, general contractors, managers, cellular carrier reps, and your Boingo colleagues. Youโ€™ll manage the daily direction of all project-related activities that pertain to our agreements with cellular carriers and venue managers. (e.g., airport authorities, building management, municipalities, etc.)

This role is based on-site at Newark Airport (EWR), with occasional travel to our Rockefeller Center office, as well - several times per month.

Responsibilities

  • Team-lead responsibility for the design, construction, test, and launch of DAS systems in select venues
  • Review executed Host Agency contracts, Carrier Agreements, contractors and subcontracts, etc.
  • Prepare Project Plans and set up project teams; work and coordinate with the NYC based PM team
  • Manage and coordinate day to day construction activities related to all on-site implementation and operations work in accordance with Agreements, Contracts and Project Plans
  • Work directly with host facility representatives to establish and maintain cooperative relationships
  • Support the discovery, review, and evaluation of all potential service sub-contractors
  • Follow Program Controlโ€™s Project Tracking and Reporting Process, including Program & Project Review Presentations 
  • Establish Preventative & Emergency Maintenance Plans
  • On-site management of all Boingo field personnel, contractors & subcontractors
  • Coordinate and oversee of all project management work schedules and weekly look-a-heads
  • Manage all coordination effort between Host Agency Project Managers and General Contractors, various trade labor contractors, engineering firms, etc. 
  • Serve as the first contact for contract compliance
  • Coordinate and oversee all acceptance testing
  • Work directly with vendors in areas of documentation, spares, support, upgrades, commissioning, ATP and maintenance

Requirements

  • 7 + years of experience in telecommunications industry management.
  • Experience in working with telecom companies and host agencies is required.
  • A solid grasp of project management functions.
  • A professional demeanor and the ability to interface directly with senior company management is a must.
  • Must be able to manage a diverse group of subcontractors and employees and effectively perform and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Experience and moderate knowledge of RF distribution systems and fiber optic systems is required.
  • The ability to pass a 10-year FBI background check to obtain a SIDA badge.
