The Role

We're looking for a Fiber Splicing Manager to oversee fiber splicing operations across projects - leading splicing teams, managing subcontractors, and providing the technical expertise to keep work on safe, accurate, and on schedule.

What You'll Do

- Maintain expert-level knowledge of all Fiber Splicer duties and responsibilities

- Lead and manage splicing teams: hiring, training, and performance evaluations

- Oversee subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely and to standard

- Provide daily updates to Project Managers on progress and forecasts

- Track productivity, labor, and material usage while maintaining project budgets

- Provide technical guidance on complex fiber issues; perform hands-on splicing during critical outages

- Review and QC OTDR and power meter test results

- Maintain accurate daily updates in Fieldwire (QC, photos, splicing records)

- Provide customer documentation including as-builts and fiber matrices

- Lead job safety efforts and enforce OSHA / company safety protocols

Working Conditions

Outdoor, physical role with travel across markets (10-50%). After-hours and emergency repair work as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

- 5+ years of fiber optic splicing, telecom, or related field experience

- Proven experience leading splicing teams, crews, or subcontractors

- Advanced knowledge of fiber splicing, OTDR/power meter testing, and industry standards

- High School Diploma or GED required

- Ability to read fiber schematics, splice diagrams, and construction prints

- Experience with Fieldwire or similar field tracking platforms preferred

- Valid driver's license required; FOA CFOT (or equivalent) fiber certification preferred

- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred; bucket truck certification required or ability to obtain

- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather
