Description
We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial and strategic leader to further grow a Telecommunications Cabling Infrastructure design practice focused on complex campus environments-including data centers, healthcare systems, universities, and large industrial facilities. The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical depth, market awareness, and a proven ability to translate client needs into scalable, profitable services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Aid in the development and execution of a Telecommunications Cabling Infrastructure practice, including defining service offerings, target markets, and long-term growth strategy.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key sectors such as data centers, healthcare campuses, higher education, life sciences, and large-scale industrial facilities.
  • Build and sustain a robust pipeline of work through both new client acquisition and expansion of existing relationships.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, leading planning, scoping, and execution of Telecommunications Cabling Infrastructure projects.
  • Partner with clients to develop master plans, design standards, and scalable infrastructure frameworks across multi-site or campus environments.
  • Represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and client engagements to elevate brand presence and thought leadership.
  • Oversee all aspects of delivery, including design coordination, quality, cost control, risk management, and contract administration.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop staff across engineering, design, and project management disciplines.
  • Establish scalable processes, tools, and standards to support consistent delivery and growth.
  • Manage the financial performance of the Telecommunications Cabling Infrastructure practice, including forecasting, budgeting, and profitability.
  • Lead proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Implement effective project controls, reporting, and performance tracking systems.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all projects.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks at both project and business levels.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience leading Telecommunications Cabling Infrastructure design initiatives within complex campus environments (e.g., data centers, healthcare, higher education).
  • Demonstrated success in building client relationships and growing a book of business.
  • Strong understanding of outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) pathway systems, structured cabling design, and network infrastructure.
  • Experience leading design teams and managing large-scale programs.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and business acumen.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related degree from an accredited program, and 7 years of applicable experience required.
  • Prior experience in the Telecommunications Fiber Optic Cabling Infrastructure space, managing projects or executing program management in the industries of data centers, healthcare systems, universities, and/or large industrial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others (owners, contractors, engineers, designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software.
