Job description

Title: Product Composition Coordinator/Product Safety Specialist
Location: South Portland, ME
Duration: 8 Month Assignment
100% Onsite
Position Summary
The Product Composition Coordinator/Product Safety Specialist ensures compliance with regulations and internal standards related to Product Safety and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation. This role coordinates with multiple sites to gather accurate product composition data for SDS creation and develops standardized templates and processes. The position collaborates with Technical Product Support, R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support EHS sections of Safety Data Sheets and SDS inventory.
  • Develop and maintain Product Safety systems and programs.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations to integrate Product Safety into processes and manufacturing.
  • Conduct product assessments related to Product Stewardship regulations.
  • Support SDS and Product Composition strategies and coordinate with third-party consultants.
  • Manage multiple projects and ensure timely completion.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years in the biotechnology industry with Product Safety or Product Stewardship experience.
  • Expertise in Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation.
  • Experience with Product Safety regulations and technical project management.
