Clark Builders is hiring a Project Manager, Architectural Cladding in Edmonton to support projects across all operational business units. As a key member of the project team, this role oversees all stages of Architectural Cladding construction. This includes ensuring the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while leading and supporting the project team.


Reporting to: Manager - Cladding Operations

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads and ensures that all operational standards and processes are achieved, ensuring operational efficiency, consistency & excellence are achieved.
  • Builds and develops operations talent and Cultural Management, supporting Clark Builders as the best place to learn, work, and thrive.
  • Drive Innovation, continuous Improvement, and a lean culture through best practices, training and development of all staff members, and work with Existing Architectural Cladding staff to build a highly functioning department.
  • Participate and review Project Execution and Quality Control (QC) plans with Project Superintendent (PS).
  • Serve as liaison with Architects, Consultants, Suppliers, Inspectors, and other project staff and owner representatives in resolving issues related to plans and specifications.
  • Oversee and make decisions related to contract drawings and subcontract information. Ensure drawings and specifications accurately relate to estimate.
  • Manage project budget including reviews of invoices, follow through on claim submittals.
  • Prepare and present Project Status Reports
  • Manage submittals and shop drawings, assess all for conformance to contract specifications and resolve conflicts in interpretation.
  • Log, manage, and resolve change orders identified on Constraint Log.
  • Conduct Quality Control (QC) inspections to ensure installations are per contract documents and in accordance with approved shop drawings.
  • Communicate critical path and coordination risks that affect project schedule. Prepare and manage Long Lead Matrix.
  • Support Building Living Injury Free Every Day (L.I.F.E.) practice on project.
  • Hold regular check-in meetings with direct reports.
  • Develop reports such as General Conditions Items, labor, safety, Change Order logs, and Quality Control.
  • Project execution and document control responsibilities including Request for Information (RFI), Site Instructions (SI), Submittals, Change Requests (CRX), Change Orders (CO).
  • Responsible for all aspects of financial management strategy for Architectural Cladding portion.
  • Create and manage schedule.
  • Track productivity and performance of the project. (Core function: Project Management)
  • Responsible for all aspects of project close out including training, inspections, turnover, and warranty.
  • Chair meetings, issue minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Develop a strategy to deliver and drive results on the identified project performance goals and conditions of satisfaction.
  • Provide elevated client care and services to ensure the highest value to clients.
  • Support and grow ongoing sub-trade and client relationships.
  • Ability to solve problems and coordinate with suppliers to order and deliver projects in conjunction with Clark Builders Project Management team.
  • Work with Project Development team and assist with securing Architectural Cladding building opportunities.
  • Material Procurement related to building envelope scopes of work (e.g., membrane, insulation, wall cladding).
  • Participate in Leadership development and training of project team.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma or 2-year certificate in a construction related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience working as a Project Manager, managing the construction of Commercial, Industrial, or Intuitional buildings in particular building envelope scopes of work.
  • Understanding of various types of construction contracts, including design build, to assist Project Development and Project teams for the right fit for our client.
  • Experience managing the entire construction process from startup to closeout, would be an asset on a variety of project sizes and complexities, but our focus is a team player who is well versed in building envelope construction.
  • Understanding the principles of Lean thinking, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement
  • Experience with Last Planner System an asset
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Experience with Procore Construction Management Software an asset
