This position reports to:
Manufacturing Unit Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by leading the project team members to achieve project requirements, deliver contracted deliverables, and meet the committed project result.

This role is contributing to our NAM Electrification Distribution Solutions Operation in Pinetops, North Carolina.
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Develop and analyze project execution, KPI monitoring of project and ensure Consistent project execution across teams in factory.
  • Prioritize actions based on strategic alignment, value, and resource capacity. Ensure that leadership has clear visibility to make informed investments decision and project progress.
  • Developing an execution plan with a strong delivery, design, test & user documentation, product cost estimates, risk mitigation techniques, and operating procedures are fully implemented and effectively executed, including high quality reporting on projects status.
  • Develop framework for leaders to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments and team members including Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Laboratory, Technical Services, Operations, and Quality Control
  • Implement and maintain project management tools, follow up teams to use them consistently, and automate reporting, workflows, and documentation.
  • Share executive summary with operational excellence, factory management, R&D leadership and product management periodically.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred) is required, master's degree is considered an advantage, with a minimum of 12-14 years (10+ years in case of master's degree) of experience in project management and engineering management of electrical power systems product development environment.
  • Direct experience in electrical/mechanical industry with project management in product development, project team management in factory operations environment or in a power utility is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess strong project management skills with demonstrated capability to meet project deadlines and deliver the results.
  • PM certification is preferred as well as experience in managing stage-gate projects using waterfall project methodology; Additional experience using Agile product development methodology is a plus.
  • Strong people management or supervisory experience.
  • Must have ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
