About the Department

TheStrategy, Planning and AnalyticsDepartment works collaboratively with each department across the organization to support strategy, growth plan execution, project management, and strategic business operations planning. The team provides the organization with in-depth analytical support by evaluating existing operations and new business opportunities. The team helps lead and advise cross-functional project teams in executing the many action items, special projects, and enhanced operations that help NYRR reach its strategicobjectives. About the Position

The Project Management Specialistwill report to the Director of Project Management with the core responsibility of providingproject management supportfor critical initiatives related to NYRR’scorestrategicpillarsandobjectives.This role will support leaders in managing cross-functional teams to execute projectsontime,withinbudget,andinscope.

Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties): Core Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, andmonitora wide array ofNYRR’scross functional projects andinitiatives
  • Support development ofproject charters to inform project kick off, and to ensure projects align withbusiness case,strategicplan,and organizational goals
  • Lead cross functional teams& meetingsto ensure projectsaresuccessfully executed and stay within scopeand budget
  • Develop and track project timelines with key milestones and risks, report regular progress to key stakeholders
  • Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • Activelymonitorproject risks and scope creep toidentifypotential problems/risks
  • SupportDirectorofProjectManagement(planning,scopingand execution)onnewand recurringinitiatives, working with cross-functional teams from across the organization
Supporting Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Director, Project Management to instill PM best practices at NYRR bysupporting development ofproject templates, documentation, contingency planning, and training materials
  • Build upon current cross-functional collaboration best practices with the goal of fostering increased communications and teamwork across the organization
  • Partner with other NYRR teams toidentifyanddevelop opportunities for operational improvement,embraceorganization-wide change management and role model associated best practices
  • Assistwith facilitationofinternalinnovation,collaborationand planningsessions
  • Assistwith the execution ofannualinternalstrategy sessions
Experience:
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Demonstratable experience withtimeline, scope and budgetmanagement,and process improvement projects
  • Strategy experience a plus
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degreerequired
  • PMPor other Project Managementcertificationa plus
Skills and Attributes:
