Job description

Principal Project Manager
Are you ready to lead from the front line of a top 10 bank? Do you thrive in a high-visibility environment where your strategic relationship-building and deep delivery expertise translate directly into innovative business solutions?
As a Principal Project Manager on the NPP Ops Chief of Staff (COS) team, you won't just track tasks-you will act as the chief optimizer and integrator of our team's operational infrastructure. In this role, you will be the direct executor and maintainer of established operating systems, models, and frameworks. Your focus will be on operational excellence - taking high-level frameworks and translating them into practical, daily business operations. You will own the technical configuration of our tooling, build out of playbooks, and run day to day project tracking to keep the engine running smoothly.
We are seeking a highly motivated project management professional who blends sharp organizational prowess with an eye for operational detail. You excel at turning structural designs into clear, executable tactics that prepare associates for seamless execution in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will enjoy significant exposure across key business leaders and cross-functional lines of business, empowering you to guide the organization through complex transitions, mitigate delivery risk, and drive strategic alignment across the NPP and business stakeholder environment from day one.
Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence & Integration: Act as the primary executor of operating models, translating frameworks into practical, daily team work flows.
  • Tooling & Workflow Enablement: Configure, manage, and optimize core collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Google sites, Data Studio, Slack, and tracking platforms) to ensure workflows generate clean insights without creating process debt.
  • Knowledge Management: Build and maintain centralized documentation, standardized templates, and the team's practical "Ops Playbook" to accelerate onboarding and information exchange.
  • Project Management: Design, develop, and actively manage detailed project plans, tracking day to day milestones and adjusting timelines to meet shifting needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners to provide tactical execution support and keep teams aligned on well-managed delivery needs.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Process Management or continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of Project Management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Change Management Professions (Prosci) or Agile certification
  • Demonstrated experience using data and structured analysis to solve complex business problems
  • Strong communication skills with a proven track record of interacting with and informing key stakeholders across multiple levels of the company
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining centralized documentation repositories, standardized templates, and comprehensive "Ops Playbooks" to streamline execution.
  • Proven experience creating tactical communication frameworks, cross-functional interaction models, and targeted training programs tailored to support associate needs during transitions.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven track record of interacting with and informing key stakeholders across multiple leadership levels
