Job description

At The Berg Group, the Construction Project Manager Intern will act as a support to our project teams for the summer. The intern will work onsite in our corporate office in Chaska, MN and work directly with and have the opportunity to learn from our experienced Project Management Team. The Construction Project Engineer Intern should be perusing a degree in Construction Management, or a similar filed as well as have a passion for learning the subcontractor industry.
Essential Functions
  • Develop an understanding of the responsibilities of a Project Manager within the construction industry and specifically within a specialty subcontractor
  • Gain exposure to construction methods and terminology both in the field and in the office
  • Participate in the team approach to estimating, bidding, and construction of a project
  • Interact and understand the relationships between various parties of a construction contract including owners, architects, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Achieve proficiency in understanding and interpreting plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and other construction documents and schedule
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, assemble and prepare detailed technical documents common to the construction industry
