Job Description

PROCON is seeking a motivated and curious IT Intern to join our Information Technology team. This role is designed for individuals beginning their IT careers who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced professional environment.

Working closely with experienced IT staff, the IT Intern will support day-to-day technical operations while developing foundational skills in troubleshooting, system maintenance, and customer service. This role provides exposure to desktop support, hardware deployment, IT security practices, and technology projects across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in responding to help desk tickets and basic technical support requests.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues under supervision.
  • Provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Set up and configure new user workstations and equipment.
  • Deliver friendly, professional customer service to employees across departments.
  • Assist with installation and configuration of computers and peripheral devices.
  • Support software installations, updates, and routine system checks.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in hardware refreshes, system upgrades, and technology rollouts.
  • Assist with documentation of IT processes and troubleshooting steps.
  • Follow company IT security policies and assist with patching and antivirus monitoring.
  • Escalate complex or unfamiliar issues appropriately.
  • Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new technologies and apply feedback.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all tasks
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent technical training)
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interest in developing technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
